Frequently Asked Questions

  • The Trillium Zone East (TZE) is a registered not-for-profit corporation responsible for CRA remittances and compliance with ONCA regulations. The Zone operates autonomously under the umbrella of the Trillium Hunter Jumper Association (THJA), which is also a not-for-profit organization. Our board is made up entirely of volunteers.

TZE is one of six active zones within the THJA. Zone representatives, including the President and Vice President, attend and represent their members at THJA central committee meetings—including the Annual General Meeting—and actively participate in discussions, and retain 2 votes of the 12 that help shape the future of the association.

The THJA itself is also volunteer-driven, with the exception of the Executive Director. The organizations receive guidance from SportLaw Inc. on best practices in equestrian sport, and both THJA and TZE carry liability insurance.

Our mission as a zone aligns closely with that of the THJA: to provide an affordable, competitive, and high-quality environment where participants can develop their horsemanship and sportsmanship skills. For many members, our circuit serves as a stepping stone toward high-performance competition, while others choose to remain at the provincial level where travel, time, and financial commitments can make national participation more challenging.
